Tax Identification Number (EIN)
Also known as an EIN, 95 Number, or Tax I.D. Number, a federal Tax Identification Number is necessary when an applicant:
- creates a new business
- hires new employees
- converts the type of their organization
- purchases an ongoing business
- creates a trust or pension plan
- opens a bank account
- acts as a withholding agent for taxes
